Gujarat HC Extends Ashram Bapu’s Interim Medical Bail by 3 Months
The Gujarat High Court has granted an extension of interim medical bail to Ashram Bapu, the self-styled godman convicted of rape. This decision extends his relief for another three months, allowing him to remain out of jail until June 30, 2025.
⚖️ Why the Gujarat High Court Approved Ashram Bapu Medical Bail Extension
Justice AS Sophia approved the extension, stating that Ashram, who is 86 years old, continues to face serious health issues. The judge noted that Ashram had not violated any conditions of his earlier bail and had remained inactive during his release.
“An ailing 86-year-old seeking medical treatment should not be limited to a single system of therapy,” Justice Sophia explained.
